About the event
Join Tuolumne County Arts every 2nd Friday of the month for a FREE workshop with Ricardo Lazo.
This month's workshop will be Stylized Characters: Inspired by Anime. Ready to dive into the world of anime and create your own characters? In this workshop, we’ll explore the art of drawing in an "anime style", a Japanese medium that spans a huge range of looks—from bold and expressive to soft and detailed. You’ll learn key techniques that can be applied to any anime-inspired character, including how to design faces and capture emotions. We'll also discuss the variety of styles and stylized features within anime—such as large, expressive eyes, chibi characters, unique hairstyles, or more detailed, realistic designs. Whether you're a beginner or already familiar with anime art, you’ll walk away with new skills for creating unique characters while developing your own style. All materials provided—just bring your creativity!
No registration required, but please keep in mind that popular workshops may run out of space. There is no age restriction, but this workshop may be a little advanced for younger kids. Any young children attending must be accompanied by an adult.
This workshop was originally scheduled for March, but had to be cancelled due to weather.
