"A circle is just a big ol' dot."

"A Line is a Dot that went for a Walk"
--Paul Klee

TCA usually chooses one artist for the inspiration for our Small Works Show. This year, we decided to choose MANY artists who have used the graphic elements of Dots and Lines in their work. Every visual whether it is a design or a work of art, begins with a fundamental element!

We're focusing on Dots and Lines that are incorporated into your piece.

Still not sure about this?

Take a look at our inspiration artwork, then take a deep dive into looking everywhere around you for these elements! There are countless possibilities! Hint: You can think of "the dot" as a circle. The line can be straight, curved, broken, mixed, continuous, discontinuous, regular, or variable. Those magic LINES allow us to represent objects too!

Choose any medium for your work: acrylic, gouache, pastel, mixed media, intaglio, block print, silk screen, photography, sculpture using wood, stone, metal, plaster, fiber, & clay, 2D or 3D.
