About the event
Join Tuolumne County Arts for The Fiber Fellowship, a two-part crafting session with Kiera Danicourt every 3rd Saturday of the month. Come and go as you please during the Sit & Knit and/or Fiber Fun portions, meeting local creatives and learning new techniques and crafts along the way. A break is scheduled in between for those wishing to stay for both activities. All ages and any skill levels welcome!
🧶 Sit & Knit— 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Sit, knit, and connect with fellow local crafters during this mellow knitting club portion of The Fiber Fellowship. Bring your own projects to work on (crochet is okay too!) or try out the suggested project of the month. Materials and beginner knitting instruction are available for $5 for anyone who needs it. Additional, discounted tools and yarn are also available in our adjoining shop.
🔹 Break— 4:30 pm – 5:00 pm
Use this time to take a breather, grab food or drinks downtown, browse the shop, or get situated early as we set up for Fiber Fun!
🎨 Fiber Fun— 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Learn how to create different types of fiber crafts during this crafting workshop portion of The Fiber Fellowship. Monthly activities will cover a range of crafts such as knitting, crochet, loom, felting, and more! All materials are provided.
This month's fiber craft: French Knit Coasters. Create a simple knitting loom from popsicle sticks, cardboard rolls, glue, buttons, tape, and yarn. Then cast on the yarn and learn to make a drink coaster using a French Knitting/Spool Knitting technique.
The Fiber Fellowship is FREE to attend! No registration required, but please keep in mind that popular workshops may run out of space. There is no age restriction for this workshop, but any young children attending must be accompanied by an adult.
