About the Show
From Here to There is a traveling art show presented by the newly formed Sierra Seven Arts Alliance and exhibited across seven Central and Eastern Sierra counties. This exhibition offers participating artists an exciting opportunity to have their work shown in multiple venues throughout the region, providing increased exposure to new audiences and communities while contributing to building a stronger, more connected cultural landscape for the Sierras—giving locals and visitors alike a glimpse into the hearts and minds of artists and creatives who call the Sierra region home.
The Show features work from all artistic disciplines from living artists residing in or maintaining strong community ties to Inyo, Mono, Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne, and Mariposa Counties.
“The arts have the power to reveal and celebrate the connections that weave through the Central and Eastern Sierra: our grand landscapes, unique bioregions, diverse communities, small and intimate perspectives, and future aspirations. Artists play a vital role in illuminating these connections, large and small, tangible and intangible. Through your creative work, you help tell the stories that define this place and deepen the relationship and reverence for our home.”
—Sierra Seven Arts Alliance
Special thanks to the Sierra 7 Arts Alliance for organizing this exhibition.
Sierra 7 Arts Alliance is supported by the Sierra Jobs First Catalyst grant program, and administered by Sierra Business Council. Many thanks to C5 Arts Center in Bishop, and Naomi Harte Johnson for writing the grant that has done so much to bring us all together to show the depth and breadth of the work of the artists in our seven counties.
We are thankful to the Chakachi-no Enrichment Center and the Chicken Ranch Band of MeWuk people for allowing us to use their beautiful space for this show. We hope to continue to be invited into their community space for our mutual learning and sharing of the gifts of place, and to be able to share our hopes for arts and culture to thrive through mutual support and care.
